Overview:
Presented by the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine, this course is designed to provide practitioners interested in aesthetic patient care with the most contemporary data on the use of minimally invasive, office-based procedures. The course will offer multidisciplinary lectures emphasizing techniques that are applicable for specialists in a broad range of fields including plastic surgery, dermatology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology head and neck surgery, and oral and maxillofacial surgery. Didactic sessions will be augmented by videotaped patient treatment demonstations. Faculty and participant interaction will be encouraged during the video treatment sessions.
Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
* Describe recent advances in skin care and skin health maintenance
* Understand techniques for rejuvenation of facial, neck, and extremity skin
* Use advances in hyperdynamic muscle therapy and new treatment strategies
* Evaluate and recognize the indications for contemporary soft tissue fillers
* Provide effective office management for veins, telangiectasies, and vascular lesions
* Understand the latest techniques for laser hair removal and laser skin resurfacing
* Provide appropriate patient assessment and utilization of office blepharoplasty

UCSF designates this educational activity for a maximum of 16.75 hours in category 1 credit toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award.
